Should I buy my boyfriend’s family a few inexpensive gifts for Christmas?

I don’t know what to get his little brother who is 11.
But I thought maybe some nice candles or something for his mom.
And no idea for his dad.
Does anyone have any ideas?
And is this appropriate to do?
I don’t expect something from them or anything, I just wanted to be nice.
