Any ideas for inexpensive homemade gifts for family and friends?
Posted by ChristmasAdmin under Inexpensive Christmas Giftsriver85715 asked:
This Christmas will have to be an inexpensive Christmas for me when it comes to giving gifts to my family and friends. I have been trying to think of gifts that I can make myself without spending a lot of money. My main goal is to make something that people will really like, either for practical use or pure enjoyment. I am at my wits end for ideas. Does anyone out there have any homemade gift ideas for men and women? Can you share some of your ideas that have been real successful? All serious replies are appreciated. Thanks for your time everyone.

1. granola - really full of good stuff like pecans cashews and dried fruit that’s not rasins maybe apricots- make alot and put in in a neat $1 store jar with ribbon or rope and autum leaves
2. gift basket of bath stuff - every one needs stuff they don’t usually want to spend thier $ on like whitestrips, loofas and natural sponges, light frangance items like vanilla, toothbrush, cool weird comb, new styling product - as little or much as you like
3. oragami kits are cheap around xmas time bookstores
4. you can make a cookie mix with all the ingredients measured out an into a $1 store container
5. reusable shopping bag - you can make yourself easy! fill it with organic or novelty teas

Something that went over well last year for me was memory boxes, you go to a Micheal’s or Hobby Lobby etc. get a non-painted box that you want to paint, or really pretty box and decorate it with photos from the last year then spray it with a clear coat of spray paint. depending on how creative you get is how much time it will take.

Spend a day making christmas candies and cookies, make a tin for each family with samples of each type of goodie you made. Make at least one really special recipe, and include the recipe with your gift tin. At a good dollar store you should be able to find cute Christmas tins or plates. Use wax papers to separate the layers or buy mini cupcake papers and use those for the candies, use regular size cupcake papers to stack 3-4 cookies in. Have fun and personalize it, friends and family will love it.
